The music Landon writes is as open and honest as the Kansas skies he grew up beneath.
His acoustic driven sound is eclectically soulful and passionate, bringing together influences that range from folk and blues to indie and rock, melding them into a uniquely colorful sound. After a conversation with a friend, Landon has begun to affectionately refer to his own style as “indiealtfolkrock.” |
In February 2012 Landon released a five song EP titled "Come & Listen,” an album exploring the tension between brokenness and hope.
"As I began to pull songs together for this album, I realized how much these songs are often representative of the tension in my own heart. Pain and hope. Brokenness and healing. Light and dark. When you follow Jesus, you sometimes live in that tension and with this album I wanted to explore it a little. Lately as I continue to perform these songs, this idea seems to keep digging into my soul more and more. To be broken hurts, but it is not the end--often it marks the beginning of something new. The title for the EP comes from two passages in Old Testament scripture: Isaiah 55 and Psalm 66. Isaiah presents an invitation to the thirsty and hungry and hurting to come and listen and eat and be filled and find Life. And as the Psalmist proclaims God's goodness, he invites us to listen to the story of what the Lord has done for him. It's my hope that this album, as well as my life, reflects that spirit. ” As a singer/songwriter, performer, and worship leader Landon has played across the country for youth groups and colleges, conferences and camps, as well as coffee shop concerts and intimate house shows. |
